These briquettes are handy for all sized stoves from the smallest to largest, as they are only six inches long. They are of medium density and easy to light. Their sides are not heated during production, hence there is a small quantity of sawdust that comes off these briquettes. It's best to keep them in the bag or log basket for this reason. The performance is unaffected.
They also typically expand slightly when burning, so it's important not to overload your stove or boiler. They burn at high temperature with minimal smoke due to low moisture content of the wood, typically 5-8%.
