SPECIFIC DAY DELIVERY
Why not choose a convenient delivery date when you order? This is no problem, and helps both us and the delivery company to manage our orders and deliveries. Whilst we can’t give an exact time of delivery, we can make it easier for you to arrange days off work, or for someone to receive your order.
If you need a delivery specifically in the AM or PM we can also arrange this, but there will be an additional charge.
If you need a next working day delivery, this can be arranged too, but there will be an additional charge of £15 per pallet. Please ring us on 0151 236 9181 to arrange next day delivery.
Saturday delivery can also be arranged too for an additional charge of £55.50 per pallet.
DELIVERY VEHICLES
In order to make sure that you get your wood pellets, charcoal and/or briquettes when you need them, our delivery company has advised us that they will be using 18-tonne lorries for all our deliveries.
This will improve delivery times which will also help to keep costs down. An 18 tonne lorry is approximately: 15m long, 2.6m wide & 4.5m high
For hard to reach places, or those areas or roads that are unsuitable for big lorries, a smaller 7.5 tonne lorry can be used instead. A 7.5 tonne lorry is similar in size to a bin lorry, so if you get your bins emptied, then there’s room for a 7.5 tonne lorry.
For places that are even harder to reach, a long wheelbase van may need to be used instead. This will be similar to a long wheelbase “Transit” style van. Please note that there will be extra charges if a transit van delivery is required due to limited access.
- A 7.5 tonne lorry measures approximately: 8.0m long, 2.5m wide & 3.7m high
- A long wheelbase van measures approximately: 7m long, 2.5m wide & 2.8m high.
Also, if the pallet needs to be split into extra shipments there will be extra delivery charges.
INFORMATION WHEN ORDERING
Please make sure that you give us any helpful instructions and information if your property or business premises are hard to reach or will be unsuitable for a large lorry. A mobile number is essential.
The courier is only contracted to drop the pallet off on the curb, it's the drivers responsibility whether to take it on to your property or not.
Full pallets are very heavy so your expectations of where you want the pallet delivery to be made and where the driver can unload may not be possible. We always, always recommend that someone is there to receive delivery and to assist the driver if required, we cannot be moaned at if the pallet is not dropped off where you hoped it would be, especially if you know delivery is going to be difficult.
Things to consider:
- Narrow roads may be unsuitable for large delivery lorries.
- The delivery area should be flat, rather than a steep slope.
- Pallet trucks don’t work on lose ground such as grass, pavement, gravel or soil.
- The delivery lorry won’t have a fork lift truck or a crane.
- You may need additional help in order to get your wood pellets, briquettes or charcoal to exactly where you want them - our delivery vehicles are all equipped with tail lifts and pallet trucks, this makes for easier unloading and delivery onto your premises.
- Premises where it is illegal for a lorry to park or offload.
It is your responsibility to ensure that there is safe and clear access for the delivery vehicle. If the haulage company arrive at your address and face one of the conditions above, the driver may decide to cancel the delivery, and this may incur a cancellation fee to cover the cost of dispatching and returning your order to our central warehouse. If you are unsure as to whether your location is suitable for a palletised delivery, please call us to discuss. We will advise as to whether there is likely to be problems at the offloading point.
